“Banjaluka is a friend”, under that slogan a humanitarian action was organized in the town on Vrbas for Kiseljak, Jablanica, Konjic and Fojnica. Citizens are invited to donate much-needed funds to those affected by the catastrophic floods that affected four municipalities in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Citizens can bring aid packages every day to the premises of the Fire Department near the Police Department, at the address Hvarska bb.
This humanitarian action is organized by the City Administration with the support of the Banjaluka Red Cross and will last from today until October 16.
“We are starting with an action lasting seven days because the list of needs that are necessary for the field changes from day to day. Yesterday at the meeting we had a list, and today we received information through our Red Cross that food supplies are accumulating, that now there are other needs in the field”, said Milada Šukalo, adviser to the mayor of Banja Luka.
After seven days, according to information from the field and from the affected municipalities, a decision will be made on the possible extension of the action.
” What I received this morning from my colleagues from the Red Cross, their priorities are as follows: drinking water, raincoats, boots, only smaller numbers, shovels, gloves, construction gloves, construction carts, hygiene packages, cleaning products, candles, lamps and disinfectants ,” said Željkica Ilić, secretary of the city organization of the Red Cross of Banjaluka.
The mayor of Banjaluka, Draško Stanivuković, announced today that he will pay 100,000 marks in aid to the affected municipalities of Banjaluka.
All citizens are invited to join the action, but also to donate money, according to their possibilities, by calling the number 17023, which will donate 2 KM, or by paying to the dedicated account 1340011130004680 opened at ASA Bank dd Sarajevo.
