This year, Banja Luka achieved a significantly higher number of passengers than Niš Airport, and this year it even surpassed Tuzla Airport.
Banja Luka recorded an impressive 32,699 passengers in December 2024. When compared to December 2022, when the number of passengers was 29,876, it can be seen that the number of passengers increased by about 9.5 percent. Compared to December 2019, the number of passengers increased by as much as 240.5 percent, reports zamaeero.
The airport performed a total of 318 operations in December 2024, while in the same month last year the number of operations was 232. Compared to December 2019, when there were 166 operations, it is clear that there has been a significant increase in the number of flights.
In total, Banja Luka Airport had 399,191 passengers in 2024 , which is a lower number compared to 460,720 passengers in 2023. However, compared to 2019, the number of passengers increased by 266.7 percent, when 149,693 passengers were recorded.
In 2024, the airport had 4,262 operations, which is significantly more than in previous years. Also, an amount of 25.6 tons of cargo was recorded, which is a significant increase compared to 1.3 tons in 2023 and 5.5 tons in 2019.
Compared to other airports in the region, Banja Luka has had significantly higher passenger numbers than Niš Airport this year, and this year it has even surpassed Tuzla Airport.
