Altermostar in OKC Abrašević

Altermostar is a media project dedicated to independent music creation in Mostar.

As stated by OKC Abrašević, the goal of the project is “to collect and share information about the scattered scene, primarily the alternative scene, in order to stimulate interest and facilitate further research of this lesser-known, but continuously active Mostar phenomenon”.

“At the moment in which we present the previous work, the edition provides an overview of basic information about over 150 Mostar bands/performers from the past 50 years, classified according to the decades of the beginning of their work, musical directions, musicians, producers, concert and studio spaces that connect them. The work on data collection remains work in progress until 2025, when it is planned to consolidate them into a book edition.

The project’s desire is to strengthen the independent scene in our city, to pay tribute to local authorship, to encourage future creativity and freedom, and to foster a sense of local patriotism,” the invitation states.

The presentation of the work on the archive has been announced for August 31st in the courtyard of OKC Abrašević, starting at 9:00 p.m., and will be followed by the Mostar music hall.

The creation of the online edition of the archive was supported by the project Mostar: Spaces that move.

Entrance is free.
