Support implemented in partnership with the USAID, within the program “Snaga lokalnog”
On Thursday (July 22, 2021), the Tuzla Community Foundation will sign contracts with representatives of civil society organizations for the implementation of local initiatives between 09:00 and 14:00 hrs. in the Atelier “Ismet Mujezinović”. Around 50,000 BAM were provided for 25 civic initiatives from the I Love My City Fund and the Youth Fund.
The support through these funds is part of the project “Our community is our responsibility” which the Tuzla Community Foundation is implementing in the Tuzla Canton with the support of the USAID within the program “Snaga lokalnog”. In order to contribute to the faster creation of conditions for sustainable growth and development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially civil society, through support for civic initiatives, we will influence the increase of civic engagement and mobilization of available local resources.
The Funding Committees reviewed 60 applications for co-financing prepared by associations, youth organizations, public institutions and informal groups from the area of Tuzla Canton.
Guided by the criteria and the fact that priority is given to innovative projects, the Committees decided to support the best projects that meet the needs of the local community in the following areas:
- Nature conservation, care for the environment and climate;
- Quality education and lifelong learning;
- Reducing inequality and protection and promotion of human rights;
- Development of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial spirit.
The implementation of these projects will contribute to the establishment of cooperation between the civil, business and public sectors, and improve living conditions in local communities in Tuzla Canton.

On the same day, the Tuzla Community Foundation will sign contracts with representatives of active communities, for whose 7 projects, which improve the cooperation of all actors in the community, over 20,000 BAM will be provided from the Active Community Fund, with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
