The “Invest in BiH” project is entering the second phase of implementation – the awarding of grants to applicants who have successfully passed all steps.
We would like to remind you that, in cooperation with 18 municipalities and cities, the Startup Studio launched a support program for people from the diaspora who want to invest in new or existing business ideas in one of the 18 local communities. A fund of 1.2 million BAM of grants for investments from the diaspora is available, financed by the Government of Switzerland and 18 municipalities and cities.
As a successful example of attracting investments from the diaspora, increasing the number of jobs, and producing products in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which can certainly compete on foreign markets, is the company HETI doo from Ljubinje. The business of this company is based on the production of tea, supplements and cosmetics with a special purpose based on medicinal plants, forest fruits and bee products.
In the premises of the Ljubinje Municipality, a ceremonial signing of the Agreement on the allocation of grants in the amount of 15,000 BAM for the purchase of equipment (purchase of a vacuum homogenizer for the production of cosmetic creams) was held, which gave the founders the opportunity to improve their production system. Stevo Drapic, mayor of the Municipality, attended this event on behalf of the Ljubinje Municipality, who said:
“We think that the opportunity for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and also for Ljubinje, is to attract our people from the diaspora. I am taking this opportunity to invite all those interested to apply for grants, because there are still available funds in our joint fund.”
Slobodanka Dangubic, director of HETI doo Ljubinje, positively surprised by the transparent and simple system of application and allocation of grants, emphasized:
“I immediately received instructions and recommendations for which grant I can apply for, I received help from a consultant. Of course, Ljubinje municipality was involved in the entire process. We completed the entire application in a very short time and received the required funds. This is a very nice experience and a positive surprise. We definitely plan to continue our cooperation with the Mozaik Foundation.”
During the past few months, we have tried to promote the investment potential in Bosnia and Herzegovina, bring all available resources closer, as well as the great support provided by the representatives of these 18 municipalities and cities, and we have noted significant interest from both our people from the diaspora and entrepreneurs in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They saw the potential of investing in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the opportunities available in the lonac.pro community.

The Ljubinje Municipality proved to be an excellent partner in this project, and we look forward to continued cooperation with the Municipality.
