Specialist in orthopedics and traumatology at the “Srbija” East Sarajevo Hospital, Nenad Šaponjić, successfully operated on a 21-year-old woman from Sokoc, to whom, due to her lack of blood type, he gave the necessary blood for the operation.
Namely, as Šaponjić said, a ninety-one-year-old woman from Sokoc was diagnosed with fractures of the femur and humerus, which required operative treatment.
“Since there was not enough B positive blood group on the condition, as her surgeon I decided to donate blood. Given that I am a voluntary blood donor, that was not a problem for me,” said Šaponjić.
As he said, he performed two successful operations on this Sokočanka yesterday.
“The patient is feeling well and during the day she will be transferred from intensive care to the Department of Orthopedics where she will continue her treatment,” emphasized Šaponjić.
