63 percent of foreign tourists in RS come from neighboring countries

About 63.5 percent of foreign tourists who spend the night in Republika Srpska come from three countries, namely Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia.

This is shown by the latest data from the Statistical Office of the RS on tourism in eight months of this year, i.e. from January to the end of August 2024.

In this period, a total of 479,139 foreign tourists visited the RS, of which 304,289 were from Serbia (about 160,000), Croatia (about 102,000) and Slovenia (about 49,300).

By the way, in the eight months of this year, the arrival of 327,451 tourists in the RS was registered, with a total of 802,391 overnight stays. There were 124,740 domestic tourists and they made a total of 323,252 tourists, and the domestic tourists category includes all citizens living in BiH.

The number of tourist arrivals increased by 0.9 percent, while the number of overnight stays increased by 4.8 percent compared to eight months last year.

Tourists mostly come to spas in RS and mountain places. In August of this year, 12,973 permanent beds were available in this entity.
