IEEE, the Bosnia and Herzegovina Futures Foundation, MIT Legatum Center and the prestigious Australian La Trobe University offer 50 free scholarships for a special program for young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina who want to learn more about building and managing their own business.
IEEE Innovation Nation Bosnia and Herzegovina is a program initiated by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world’s largest technical organization with more than 420,000 members worldwide. The program has been held in our country for the sixth year in a row, and every year the number of participants, lecturers and awards for the best grows. The value of the program is estimated at over 5,000 BAM, and is reflected in the resources available to participants.
The Innovation Nation initiative was launched several years ago with the aim of developing new success stories in developing countries. Apart from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the program is still held in Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Jamaica. We are aware that young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina do not have the opportunity to learn first-hand about starting a business, developing an idea, all the factors involved and running that business as well. It is for this reason that we are very proud that we have brought this program to our country and that it gathers more and more participants every year who produce new success stories. – they point out from the Bosnia and Herzegovina Futures Foundation.
IEEE Innovation Nation Bosnia & Herzegovina 2021 is a great opportunity for all young people to:
- Attend a course that costs over 5000 BAM completely free of charge
- Learn how to develop a business idea from scratch to a presentation to investors
- Work directly with global startup trainers to develop their idea
- Receive IEEE, MIT Legatum Center and La Trobe University certification
- Receive 20,000 BAM as an incentive to develop their idea
During 12 weeks, young professionals and students will be part of interdisciplinary teams and work on the development of startups with the support of world experts from various fields. All interested can apply as individuals or as a team.
Last year’s winner is the Eco-Logical startup, which produces wooden straws in a new innovative way, and the evaluation of the value of the business based on previous investments is 700,000 BAM.
We gained the necessary knowledge, experience and met amazing people which changed our lives. We are currently continuing to develop our idea and hope that our product will be on the market soon.
