Railways of the Federation of BiH and FBiH transported 106,106 passengers in the second quarter, which is 10.8 percent more than in the same period last year.
In the second quarter, 8,975,546 passenger kilometers were traveled, which is 11.6 percent more than in the same quarter last year, the Federal Bureau of Statistics announced.
Of that, in domestic passenger transport, the number of transported passengers increased by 10.5 percent, and the passenger kilometers traveled increased by 11 percent compared to the second quarter of last year.
In rail freight transport in the second quarter, 1,647,341 tons of goods were transported, which is 8.8 percent less compared to the same period in 2023, and 207,655,464 ton kilometers were achieved, which is 5.6 percent more compared to the second quarter of last year.
Of this, 0.6 percent more tons of goods were transported in domestic freight traffic, while the realized ton kilometers were 8.9 percent lower compared to the same period in 2023, and 33.8 percent less was transported in international freight traffic. tons of goods, while the realized ton kilometers were 21.1 percent lower compared to the second quarter of last year.
