The Tuzla Community Foundation and the Association “Art Center Ankata” Tuzla invite you to participate in a fundraising campaign for the project “Theater of Importance for Tuzla Canton” which will enable residents of small municipalities and rural communities to attend theater plays.
The goal of the project
The goal of the project “Theater of importance for Tuzla Canton” is to make available cultural and artistic, or theater content in all parts of Tuzla Canton, and their citizens. There are many municipalities and environments in which theater plays have not been represented in any form for more than 20 years. Children, young people and the elderly are deprived of the great pleasure that acting, actors and plays leave. By raising funds through the “Traveling Theater” campaign, 40 plays will be performed in at least 13 communities in Tuzla Canton. These are smaller, rural communities in which cultural and artistic life is completely neglected. It is planned to prepare and produce three plays – plays for children of primary school age, plays for young people, as well as evening plays for the general public.

Challenge
In a society that, struggling with existential problems, almost completely neglects educational, but also cultural and artistic values, there is less and less content that would educate and enrich children and youth in the segment of art and culture. Generations of young people are deprived of theatrical content that should enable them to exchange energy, ideas and values. Theater teaches and educates us. Theater audiences are educated in two ways: by creating the habit of coming to the theater and accepting patterns of behavior in the theater, and watching various plays, whereby the audience develops a sensibility for different genres and learns to interpret the world by interpreting theater plays. Theater life in the Tuzla Canton has been reduced to larger, urban centers of this Canton, while smaller areas are completely neglected, although a large number of them have the infrastructure to perform theater performances (social homes, cultural centers, etc.), only by joint efforts we can achieve a goal that is of great importance for the entire Tuzla Canton.
Solution
By realizing the campaign and the idea of ”Traveling Theater”, we will enable the population of smaller municipalities and rural areas to come to the theater in their community, and completely free of charge watch plays that will be prepared in production of the Association “Art Center Ankata”. The association will prepare three plays – for children, youth and adults that will be performed in at least 13 local communities of Tuzla Canton.
The realization of the campaign will enable better cooperation of the Association with local authorities, with the aim of making this idea come to life and become self-sustainable, and that Houses of Culture become places of learning, socializing, where cultural, artistic and other social events will take place.

Long-term impact/results
The values of theaters and cultural and artistic contents that are available to larger, urban centers will be brought closer to the population of smaller municipalities and rural areas in the area of Tuzla Canton. It will be an opportunity to connect the population within the local community, but also cooperation with the competent municipal services and cultural institutions in 13 municipalities of Tuzla Canton. In the long run, the goal is to encourage municipal services and local communities to independently develop this model, at different levels, and in cooperation with associations dealing with culture and art.
At the same time, it would be an opportunity to make the best use of the enthusiasm, desire and knowledge of young, non-established actors. The goal is to enable self-sustainability and long-term professional engagement in the next period through engagement in this important project.
