This year, the Tuzla Community Foundation organized a basic training on the topic “How to develop and write a project proposal”. This three-day training aimed to train 20 participants, i.e., activists from the Tuzla Canton, to use the knowledge gained during the training to improve the work of their organizations.
“Project management is extremely important for the work of civil society organizations, but also for the work of entities from other sectors. Therefore, in the past three days, we conducted training on this topic in order to strengthen the capacity of representatives of civil society organizations, local governments and academia, improve cooperation and encourage their participation in community life. That is why we will continue with similar trainings in the future”, said Ismet Sokoljanin, Tuzla Community Foundation development manager.
The training was led by a certified EU TaC trainer and consultant Jasminko Arnautović, who tried to transfer basic knowledge in the field of project design using practical examples and interactive work to point out the importance of understanding the whole process in developing a project idea.
Lejla Bajrami, a psychologist and participant of the training, representative of the Public Institution “Naše dijete”, believes that by strengthening the capacity of individuals in this institution, everyone benefits, both the institution, staff, and users (parents and preschool children). This institution has already been supported several times through Tuzla Community Foundation funds, and they used the additional opportunity for education to improve their project applications that they plan to write in the future.
Senada Joldić, a member of the Thyroid Diseases Association “Štit”, believes that greater support is needed for this invisible problem that many women face, and which affects their quality of life. That is why this association is determined to work on building the skills of all its members, to make their work easier, and to work on education, information and support for women with thyroid disease: “The checkups are very complicated, the waiting list is too long and there is a great misunderstanding between doctors, families and the whole environment in general. We want to learn new things through all these trainings and after this training I will start developing and writing a project proposal on the previously mentioned topics”.
The training is one of the activities within the project “Democratic and economic empowerment of underdeveloped communities in Tuzla Canton” funded by the Ministry of Economic Development and Foreign Policy of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Freudenberg Foundation.
