UniCredit in Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with the company Visa and the association “Think pink – Together we are one”, continues the initiative “My Support Circle“, in order to raise general awareness about the prevention of breast cancer. In order to strengthen women’s health and fight against breast cancer, the desire is to emphasize the importance of regular preventive examinations. All UniCredit Visa card users will, from September 15 to October 31, be able to join the support circle, given that for each payment with these cards UniCredit in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Visa will allocate 1BAM in the fund “Together we are one”, providing free mammography examinations throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, in compliance with prescribed hygienic and epidemiological measures.
The initiative was recognized and supported by: Klix.ba, Bljesak.info, Dnevni Avaz, Azra magazine, Bonjour.ba, IMG group, Europlakat, banjaluka.net and Nezavisne novine.
Nela Hasić, regional director of the Association “Think pink – Together we are one” said on this occasion: “Thanks to the partnership with UniCredit in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Visa, we managed to overcome the difficulties caused by the Corona virus pandemic and in the most challenging year since its inception such as free mammograms throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. We are happy that you have recognized the importance of the activities implemented by our Association, aware that the pandemic has not “removed” other diseases, among which is breast cancer. In times of greatest crisis, we have put responsibility and care for the community in which we live together as a priority. We are proud that this year we will continue to cooperate on projects that enable disease prevention and support for women suffering from breast cancer.”
“We live at the source of information, and yet it seems that we are still not sufficiently aware of the importance of prevention and taking care of our own health. Within this project, in cooperation with our partners, we are trying to take small steps to connect women in Bosnia and Herzegovina in what is most important. We invite you to be part of that circle of support and responsibility,” said Mr. Vladimir Đorđević, General Manager of Visa for Southeast Europe.
Presidents of the Management Boards of UniCredit Banks in Bosnia and Herzegovina, UniCredit Bank d.d. Mostar, Mrs. Amina Mahmutović and UniCredit Bank a.d. Banja Luka, Mr. Gordan Pehar, stressed the importance of supporting this type of socially responsible action: “Support and care for our communities is our duty, so we strive to be creators of a more inclusive society, listening to the needs of vulnerable categories. We are proud that this initiative saved the lives of women in the previous year and we are glad that we have joined our forces in this important mission this year as well. The most important thing is to raise awareness, because only and exclusively prevention is the definition of protection against this malignant disease. We are part of the solution and intend to remain committed to initiatives for the benefit of our society.”
The circle, as a concept, has always been a symbol of perfection and equality. And that is why we have chosen the circle for the name of this initiative. At the same time, it symbolizes time, which is extremely important and crucial for more successful prevention and treatment. We remind you that last year over 61,000 BAM was collected through this initiative, which provided over 1,500 free mammography examinations at 25 locations throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, which enabled timely detection of changes and initiation of additional examinations in 66 women, because prevention and timely response save lives.
Join us and be part of the circle.
