The Kiseljak Fund is a dedicated fund for the improvement and development of the local community Kiseljak, which is a member of the Network of Active Communities. Through this Fund, we encourage cooperation and partnership within the local community Kiseljak, where activists meet regularly to actively work on solving problems in their community. All projects proposed for support through this Fund are aligned with the needs of the community, and included in the annual community action plan. Projects funded by this Fund should help build trust in the community, encourage regular communication and cooperation between the public, civil and business sectors, and advocate for positive change at the level of neighborhoods and local communities.
The Grants Commission considered 5 applications for co-financing projects of associations and informal groups in Tuzla that were sent within the Public Call for Support of Civic Projects and Initiatives within the Kiseljak Fund. The Public call for applications was open in the period August 05 – September 12, 2021. The Commission decided to support the following project proposals:

Drama Club Feniks – Drama Club for children and youth
The project of the Drama Club is based on the development of social responsibility and cultural awareness among children and youth in the area of LC Kiseljak. The aim of this project is to include 20 new members, of which at least 5 are members of the Roma population. It is planned that the participants will participate in 20 workshops “Introduction to Theater and Drama”, after which they will start preparations, and finally the realization of theater performances with topics on youth problems. The partner in the project is Kiseljak Elementary School.
Association “Zemlja djece” – Promoting healthy lifestyles – table tennis tournament Kiseljak
The Association deals with providing basic assistance to children in need, regardless of their racial, ethical, social or any other affiliation. It has been working for three years in the Kiseljak area with a group of young men between the ages of 16 and 30 on a project with a focus on promoting healthy lifestyles, challenging gender stereotypes and responsible parenting. In order to promote healthy lifestyles, young people will be educated by organizing a free table tennis school and a table tennis tournament as the final part of the project. Procurement of equipment will complete the content of the Social Center Kiseljak as well as sustainable promotion of sports and healthy living style.
Association “Početak” – for rehabilitation, psychosocial assistance, resocialization – When marriage ends childhood
Giving great importance to young people in their efforts to prevent addiction, reduce juvenile delinquency and other socially unacceptable behaviors, AC Početak has been active in the Kiseljak community for many years so that they are very familiar with the problems of young and marginalized groups and juvenile marriages. Young people who enter such communities are socially and economically immature without education and employment, which is why they cannot take care of their family. The goal of the project is to introduce young people to the problems of early marriages through interactive workshops, and to build self-confidence and a positive strategy towards social pressures. The result of the project activities is to increase the awareness of young people about the problems of early marriages and to know to whom to turn to if they get into trouble.
Informal group “Aktiv žena” Kiseljak – Renovation of water spring Stubo Poljana
Aktiv žena of the LC Kiseljak was founded 2 years ago and has 15 members. So far, they have implemented several activities, of which we would emphasize the sewing action and the distribution of 900 protective masks against COVID-19 for the residents of LC Kiseljak. The aim of the project is to renovate the water spring Stubo Poljana, and to raise awareness about the preservation of natural springs, improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of Kiseljak, arrange access to the water spring and establish stronger cooperation between local organizations. The realization of the project would start from removing high and low vegetation in the vicinity of the spring, mowing the grass and digging the canal in the length of 50 m with the help of an excavator and leveling the terrain. In addition to these works, it is planned to install a wooden frame on the spring in order to prevent rainwater and impurities reaching the spring. During these works, a request will be sent to the Public Health Institute to examine the microbiological state and drinking water quality.
Informal group “Studenac” – Renovation of the water spring “Studenac”
The group was founded three months ago with the aim of contributing to the improvement of living conditions of the citizens of LC Kiseljak. The goal of this project is to arrange the space around the spring, and to adapt the approach for a safer crossing, i.e., access to the source by locals and other users. For this purpose, the construction-reconstruction of two bridges-crossings over the stream, embankment of the road and plateau around the source, construction of retaining walls, and arrangement and excavation of the drainage channel and additional concreting from the source to the stream in the length of 50 meters. It is planned to regularly send requests to the Public Health Institute of Tuzla Canton for microbiological state and drinking water quality. The implementation of the project will ensure the daily use of drinking water, preserve the spring, provide safe access to the spring, and establish cooperation with the Public Health Institute.
