Next comes the arrangement of picnic areas and waterfalls in Travnik with the support of the Italian development agency

Central and northwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina will soon get new excursion zones, thanks to the Via delle Cascate project.

This project, financed by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), lasts three years and, among other things,  focuses on the improvement of the tourist offer of Mount Vlašić, as well as the waterfalls of Jasenica, Kozica and Ugrić in Travnik through the improvement of accessibility to picnic spots,  it was stated on the website of the Municipality of Travnik .

During the field visit on Wednesday, which was organized for the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione all Aviluppo – AICS), one of Travnik’s unique waterfalls was presented.

The implementation of the project is led by the Italian organization Comitato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo dei Popoli (CISP), with the partnership of the Association Borghi più belli dell’Italia, the Institute for the Development of Peace and Innovation (IPSIA ACLI) and the Association for Entrepreneurship and Business LiNK Mostar.

As part of the project, it is planned to create a unique tourist package called “Via della Cascate – Uniqua destination”. Also, “community maps”  will be created  through eight thematic seminars, which will help identify resources, needs and potential of the community. The community map will serve as a basic tool for future projects and development strategies, the municipality said.

It is expected that these activities will have an impact on sustainable tourism development, and contribute to the strengthening of the local community and the preservation of natural resources.
