At the very beginning of 2022, the first socially responsible action of the MI-BOSPO this year is focused on supporting women. MI-BOSPO provided support to the Safe House of the Association Budućnost from Modriča for the accommodation of women and children victims of domestic violence.
The Association Budućnost from Modriča, which is implementing a special measure to support the care of victims of domestic violence, is in the process of building an isolation ward that will house protégés of the safe house of the Association Budućnost from Modriča who are suspected of COVID-19 infection.
“We are very grateful for the support provided by MI-BOSPO and we are pleased that as a socially responsible legal entity it recognizes the importance of the issues we are working on, thus jointly contributing to improving the situation of women and children victims of gender-based violence. Since its establishment, more than 3,500 women and children victims of violence have found shelter from violence in the Safe House, of which 126 are unaccompanied children. This support is important to us because it contributes to keeping the doors of our Safe House open to all those in need.” – said acting director Biljana Savičić.
The Association Budućnost was founded in 1996. From the very beginning of their work until today, they have remained faithful to their primary strategy – the promotion and protection of women’s human rights. The Association participated in the adoption of numerous amendments to the law concerning the protection of victims of violence, launched a free SOS hotline (1264) which is available to victims 24 hours, organized humanitarian actions, and opened the first Men’s Center in BiH where a team of experts provides psychosocial treatment to men that have already been violent, but also preventive activities intended for all men from the community, because they believe that without this link, any work on the complete elimination of violence is incomplete.
