Today, the EU4AGRI project, funded by the European Union, published a public call for grants for investments for the improvement and development of rural/local market infrastructure in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Within the EU4AGRI project, 45 projects of farmers in Bosnia and Herzegovina and have been supported so far with a total of 6.3 million BAM in grants.
Through this public call, EU4AGRI will support investments in infrastructure for activities related to agriculture and rural development, such as green markets, livestock markets, markets, purchase stations, mobile fair infrastructure for the sale of agricultural and craft products, remote outlets located next to regional and local roads and eco sales.
The implementation of such projects improves the condition of rural areas, which also strengthens the local market, and provides local producers with conditions for planning and improving the production and marketing of agri-food products. The total available budget intended for this Public call is 1.2 million BAM.
Eligible applicants for grants under this Public call are exclusively local self-government units (LGUs) while market infrastructure projects will be supported which will be available primarily to local beneficiaries engaged in production within the following sectors: fruit and vegetable sector including olives and grapes, livestock, meat, dairy, beekeeping, grains and oilseeds, medicinal plants, aromatic plants and mushrooms sectors, as well as old and traditional crafts and handicrafts sector.

Through the EU4AGRI project and the award of grants, the European Union continues to support farmers in Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to improve their business and create new jobs. EU4AGRI is a four-year (2020-2024) project of the European Union worth 20.25 million euros, which aims to modernize the agri-food sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
