Today, in the yard of the kindergarten “Radost” Bratunac, the Association of Citizens SuperU, with the support of the OSCE Office Srebrenica, delighted the children with the action of planting a vertical garden. With the support of the “Nešković” Nursery garden and nine 10-year-old children from UG SuperU, lettuce, chard, radish, spinach and onion seedlings were planted, which the children of the “Radost” kindergarten will nurture and reap the fruits of their work together with their teachers.
The idea for this activity arose during the project “Eco-youth of Bratunac”, which was implemented by UG SuperU during July, August and September. During the project activities, the motivation of children to participate in volunteer actions, especially those related to ecology, increased. Considering that the kindergarten “Radost” is a part of the project “Preschool institutions friends of proper nutrition”, we came up with the idea to enrich the new premises of the kindergarten in the elementary school “Vuk Karadžić” with vertical gardens that children will further nurture. In addition to spending time with the children from the kindergarten, the participants had the opportunity to learn about proper planting, but also further care for these vegetable crops.
