Vladan Galijašević from Rogoušića – from a dream on cheese production to a regionally recognized soap producer

Farmer Vladan Galijašević from the village of Rogoušića in the Municipality of Pale dreamed of having a farm and breeding goats. He says that in 2013, when he bought land in Mostar and about 30 goats, he didn’t know anything about it. In 2021, with a little help from friends, goat’s milk soaps with the “Alpino” brand are sold in all DM stores in BiH, Croatia, and soon in Serbia and Slovenia. The friend in this case was the Farm II project implemented in BiH by the US Agency for International Development or USAID and the Swedish Embassy.

“I didn’t know anything about goat breeding, I saw goats on TV and in person, but I wanted a farm and somehow I knew this would work. I think that we were lucky and that goats grew up with us, and we grew up with them because in two years we had a herd with about 50 goats”, says Galijašević about the farm “Alpino” and how it was created. Today, the farm, besides his family members, employs five people.
