The mayor of Prijedor, Dalibor Pavlović, stated today that the city budget for this year envisages 200,000 BAM of emergency assistance to business entities that were affected by the last lockdown, such as caterers, hairdressers and those who were not able to work.

– The assistance will be paid in lump sum. The rulebook is being drafted and will be completed by the end of the month. These are not huge amounts of funds when we divide it by the number of businesses, but the importance is that they feel that they are respected by the city and that we understand the needs they have and additional needs that were caused due to the pandemic – Pavlović told reporters.

Today, on the occasion of May 16, the Day of the City of Prijedor, Mayor Pavlović organized a meeting with the City Economic Council titled “Strong economy for stronger Prijedor”.

– The city cannot be sustainable without a strong and stable economy and we are determined to expand and increase the existing capacities and strengthen the businesses, and to help those who plan to start a business in our city. That is the position of the City Administration and we are at disposal to all businesspersons – Pavlović said.

He reminded that the Economic Council existed before, but that it did not function in the best way or did not have many meetings, and that the new members of this body for each area will have sub-councils that will involve as many people as possible and come up with the best solutions that will be proposed to the City Administration for adoption and implementation.

– I think that is the best way to determine the right direction of our city, for the city to determine priorities and ways to help, because everyone in their branch knows what is the best way to do business and what are the city’s possibilities to help in that sense – Pavlović added.
