Technical Assistance – Public call for CSOs from Bosnia and Herzegovina working to improve the EU integration process in the country

Resource center for BiH civil society in EU integration, invites interested CSOs (sector leaders), networks and coalitions working to promote and support the harmonization of domestic regulations with the chapters of the acquis communautaire, to submit project proposals for technical assistance. The total amount of funds available under this call is € 35,000.

The technical assistance we provide should enable CSOs to facilitate the process of creating a “road map” in the sector in which they operate, i.e., a plan that would answer the question of what needs to be done in Bosnia and Herzegovina in a particular sector (negotiation chapter) – which acts to be adopted, which plans to adjust, in what way, etc. Also, activities should advocate the adoption (support) of these plans by the relevant ministries, which will actually lead the process of negotiations with the EU, in these sectors.

The call is aimed at strengthening the capacity of CSOs (including civic activists) to become more competent, independent and sector-recognized actors in the forthcoming BiH and EU negotiation processes, and indirectly at improving the institutional framework in BiH as a catalyst for CSO development and effective cooperation with BiH institutions.

All information and documentation related to the call – Application Instructions and accompanying attachments are available via the following links:

The deadline for submission of project proposals is September 10, 2021.

In this way, we want to help CSOs, sectoral leaders to argue for the initiation of processes important for EU reforms, not waiting for the state to formally open a chapter, but for the necessary reforms to begin as soon as possible. With this kind of proactive approach, CSOs can actualize the government’s political responsibility to accelerate reforms, but they can also improve the public image of CSOs – which is important for their and the overall sustainability of the civil sector.
