Fakat je vakat/It is time to reward leaders

In a society full of challenges, such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, there are communities that work strategically and continuously to improve the conditions and quality of life of youth. Umbrella youth organizations in BiH want to recognize the overall contribution of local governments to improving the position of young people at the local level and make that contribution visible to the general public. In addition, through the award ceremony, we want to encourage other local governments to do more to improve the position of young people. In fact, fakat je vakat/it is time to reward leaders… because positive community stories are important to us.

The Youth Council of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Youth Council of the Republika Srpska and the Youth Council of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of recognizing the overall contribution of local governments to improving the position of youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina, announce:

PUBLIC CALL for submission of proposals for awarding public recognitions to local self-government units for improving the position of youth in BiH

  • Article 1

The public call invites all local self-government units in BiH to apply for the award given by umbrella organizations for youth in BiH to leaders among communities in the field of improving the position of young people.

  • Article 2

The categories and deadline for submitting proposals for the public recognitions award of the umbrella bodies of young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina for achievements in 2020 are announced, as follows:

  • Leader in the field of support for youth activism and youth organization
  • Leader in the field of providing youth space and working with youth
  • Leader in the field of local youth policies
  • Leader in supporting the development of youth potential
  • Leader in the field of youth employment
  • Leader in the field of innovation/response to COVID-19

The criteria that local governments must meet in order to compete in one of the categories in which public awards are awarded are defined in the application forms for each individual category.

The deadline for submitting applications is May 14, 2021, by 11:59 p.m.

  • Article 3

Proposals for the awarding of public recognitions referred to in Article 2 of this invitation may be submitted by local self-government units.

The local self-government unit may submit proposals in a maximum of two categories listed in the call.

It is not necessary for the local self-government unit to meet all the conditions from the category to which it applies, in order to apply for the Public call.

  • Article 4

The proposal is submitted in writing, electronically and must contain the following information:

  • Name of the local self-government unit,
  • Name of the public recognition for which the proposal is submitted,
  • Appropriate documentation confirming the allegations in the proposal.

The proposal must be signed by an authorized person of the proposer and stamped.

  • Article 5

Proposals are submitted by filling in the forms for submitting proposals for the awarding of public recognitions, which are published on www.vijecemladih.ba in the DOWNLOAD category or directly on the links:

  • Leader in the field of support for youth activism and youth organization – LINK
  • Leader in the field of providing space for young people and working with young people – LINK
  • Leader in the field of local youth policies – LINK
  • Leader in supporting the development of youth potential – LINK
  • Leader in the field of youth employment – LINK
  • Leader in the field of innovation/response to COVID-19 – LINK

Completed forms should be scanned and sent by e-mail to konkurs@vijecemladih.ba

  • Article 6

Incomplete and untimely proposals will not be considered.

  • Article 7

The decision on awarding public recognitions is made by the Commission for awarding public recognitions, which will consist of representatives of umbrella youth organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Commission reserves the right not to award prizes in one or more categories due to non-fulfillment of the conditions prescribed by the Public call.

The decisions of the Commission are final, and irrevocable.

  • Article 8

Applicants will be notified on the results of the Public call by e-mail, and the results will be publicly available on the website www.vijecemladih.ba no later than 10 days after the closing of the Public call.

  • Article 9

The award given to local self-government units includes:

Public recognition in the form of a statuette, and an accompanying plaque.

The winners of the awards will be promoted to the public through social networks and media in BiH.

The winners of the award will have the opportunity to actively promote their activities on the social networks of umbrella associations in the next year.

  • Article 10

Public awards are given as part of the Fakat je vakat za mlade 2.0 project.
