Background
Fondacija Krila nade/Foundation Wings of Hope is a non-profit, grassroots organization with the goal of empowering marginalized individuals and groups who are falling through the cracks of the system and whose human rights have been violated. We accomplish this by using a holistic, multi-systemic approach in the empowerment process. We consider the fields of mental health, education, and employment as deeply interconnected, interdependent, and equally fundamental to achieving the well-being of individuals as well as the balanced development of society as a whole.
Wings of Hope’s current organizational structure requires many employees to do the work of multiple roles. This has caused burnout among some employees, and it has the potential to cause more. Wings of Hope has a goal to develop further in the future to become financially sustainable, without relying solely on project grants. The Organizational Strategy Plan will be foundational to creating a structure that will enable us to develop to that goal.
Objective & Scope
The objective of this assignment is to develop a strategy for improving the organizational structure of Wings of Hope for the period of 2022-2024, specifically defining and detailing the setup and structure of the organization, and steps for moving forward with structural changes necessary to develop. The Strategy Plan should include the structural aspects needed for the development of a financial strategy and a fundraising and marketing plan. The activities and results outlined in the organizational strategy plan should be achievable within the 3-year phase 2022-2024. Furthermore, the organizational strategy plan must utilize Theory of Change, enabling us to foresee and respond to potential threats and opportunities.
Methodology
The consultant will perform a desk review of relevant documents such as the current strategic plan, organizational chart, and current activities. The work program will include a workshop of 3 days with Wings of Hope therapists, psychosocial support workers, and administrative staff; the details of the methodology and work program for the workshop are at the discretion of the consultant. The methodology and work plan will be informed by the objective and scope of the exercise as outlined in these Terms of Reference, and the development of the organizational strategy plan should be participatory and consultative, integrating input and feedback from Wings of Hope stakeholders before and after the workshop when preparing the methodology (before the workshop) and the final deliverable (after the workshop).
Any requests for support from Wings of Hope or materials required need to be submitted seven (7) days prior to the beginning of the exercise; costs for materials will be part of the consultant fee.
