Purpose
The purpose of this Annual Program Statement (APS) is to provide essential information to prospective applicants, enabling them to submit applications for grant funding under the Municipal Diaspora Facility of the Small Grant Fund, implemented by the USAID Diaspora Invest Project (“DI” or “Project”). This APS invites grant applications from qualified and legally registered Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) with diaspora links or ownership. The focus is on co-funding for diaspora-facilitated investments into fixed assets for business operations in BiH.
Successful SME applicants will receive grant awards from the Municipal Diaspora Facility of the Small Grant Fund, which has a total value of $2 million. This fund is co-financed equally by the USAID Diaspora Invest Project and participating local government units, including: Berkovići, Bihać, Bosanska Krupa, Brčko distrikt BiH, Cazin, Centar Sarajevo, Gračanica, Istočna Ilidža, Jablanica, Jajce, Kakanj, Konjic, Livno, Lopare, Lukavac, Maglaj, Modriča, Tešanj, Travnik, Tuzla, Zavidovići, Zenica, and Žepče („Local Partners“).

All grants awarded under this APS will support the shared objectives to:
- Increase diaspora direct investment
- Support new job creation
- Promote business growth, as indicated by sales and/or exports
- Introduce new products and services into local and international markets
Subject to the availability of funds, grants ranging from BAM 15,000 to BAM 70,000 will be awarded for a maximum implementation period of eighteen months (18 months).
